Do we have a “hardcore communist” on Mt Rushmore?

benM asked:

Theodore Roosevelt was a progressive Republican who stood for regulation of big business, labor rights, protecting the environment, consumer protection laws, breaking up monopolies, against special privelege, for progressive taxes and inheritance tax on the super wealty, and for equality of opportunity.

Roosevelt even ran for president a second time as the nominee of the PROGRESSIVE party.

—————–

“”progressive” is a term used first in ******** communist movements back in the early 1900s.”

No. You are mistaking policies that some can term left wing with being a communist. There is a big difference between the two.

I would not call TR a ******** communist. He was more of a populist. FDR was closer to being a communist than his distant cousin.
